岛崎章接到整形外科医生笠松多佳子的一份号称“危险工作”的委托。保护的对象是曾经在数桩投资诈骗案中捞到好处的实业家道冈三郎。这个人是个被怀疑用诈骗来的钱贿赂政治家的“坏人”实际上，道冈虽然被捕，却以不起诉释放了。那之后不久，他就遭到仇人袭击导致跟腱断裂，秘密住进多佳子工作的医院。然而，如果他在住院期间被袭击，将会损害医院的形象。所以，医院高层犹豫不绝。因为主刀医生多佳子拒绝放弃手术，院方以“直到出院都要由保镖保护”为交换条件，勉强同意了。不过，道冈是个即使被袭击也要挑战对手的男人。
